Auto-Fill Repeating Fields with “I will be attending” Option

TIEIT now offers a new feature that makes it easier for form registrants to auto-fill their own information into the first row of a Repeating Fields section. This is especially useful when the person filling out the form is also participating—such as being an attendee, household member, or team member.

Important: The auto-fill feature only populates fields that were used under the Registrant section of the form. So, to ensure accurate auto-fill, you must use the same fields in the Repeating Fields block as those used in the Registrant section.

Overview of the New Feature

A new toggle “I will be attending” has been added to the Repeating Fields Section in the TIEIT Form Builder.

When enabled:

  • A checkbox appears above the repeating fields on the live form.
  • If selected by the registrant, their contact details (entered earlier in the form) will automatically populate the first row of the repeating section.
  • The label text (“I will be attending”) can be customized to fit your context, such as “Include my details” or “Count me in.”

How to Enable the Checkbox in the Form Builder

  1. Open your form in the TIEIT Form Builder.
  2. Navigate to or add a Repeating Fields Section (e.g., Attendees, Team Members, Household Members).
  3. In the edit pop-up for that block, check the option: Show “I will be attending” checkbox

  4. (Optional) Customize the label text for the checkbox to better fit your form's context.

Note: The auto-fill will only work for fields that are present in both the Registrant section and the Repeating Field block. So, to make auto-fill work correctly, ensure you use the same fields in both places.

How It Works on the Live Form

  • A checkbox will be shown above the repeating fields group.
  • When the registrant selects the checkbox, the system pulls their contact information (already entered in the form) and fills in the first row of the repeating fields.
  • The user can still edit or remove this pre-filled entry before submitting the form.

Example Use Case

Imagine you're creating a registration form for a workshop:

  1. The registrant fills out their contact information at the top of the form.
  2. They reach a section to add multiple attendees.
  3. A checkbox labeled “I will be attending” appears above this section.
  4. When selected, the form automatically includes the registrant’s details as the first attendee, saving time and effort.
