There are various flavours of Microsoft Exchange Servers. On-premise Exchange Servers, Exchange Online and Microsoft Outlook 365. Please contact your Exchange / IT administrator to determine which version of Exchange is being used by your organization.
This guide will walk through connecting to both on-premise and online Microsoft Exchange environments.

In this section, we will cover how to authenticate your Exchange server with TIEIT. Sections 2.0 and 3.0 will be required for this to be successfully completed first but it only needs to be done once.
1.1 Exchange Online
The TIEIT Exchange authentication a token based authentication. Follow these simple instructions to quickly authenticate your account.
- Go to https://app.tieit.io/settings/msews
- Select the Online Exchange option
- Click on the Connect Now button
- You will be redirected to Microsoft's login page. The login screen will have a similar interface to the image below.
- Enter your login credentials. Once authenticated, you will be directed back to TIEIT.
1.2 On-Premise Exchange
- Go to https://app.tieit.io/settings/msews
- Select the On-premise Exchange option
- Click on the Connect Now button
- Enter the information related to your user account and on-premise Exchange server environment. Your mail administrator will be able to provide you with this information.
The information required for the following fields can be retrieved from your organization's IT administrator.

- Enter your Exchange server hostname. Usually it is the following format: mail.domain.tld where domain.tld is your email domain.

- Follow the following format for entering the username. Replace with your workstation/email username. {domain}\{username}
Replace {domain} and {username} with your data.

- Enter the password used to sign into your workstation and/or email.
2.0 Syncing Emails
After successfully authenticating your account (previous step), the button will read Disconnect.
- Click on the section titled Microsoft Inbox
- Select the date range to sync. It is recommended to do a 60 day sync period initially.
- Click on the Sync Now button Emails will be scheduled to start synchronizing. Initial synchronization timeframe may vary depending on the number of emails that need to be synchronized and other jobs that are queued.
