How to Create a Custom Record Layout View
What is a Custom Record View?
You can create custom record views to easily find information that may be helpful to you or your team. You can customize the content that appears under the details tab on a CRM detail page, or hide certain tabs. You can also add an additional tab on the left side panel.
How to Access & Add a Custom Record Layout View
Please note, if you follow the steps below and do not see the option to view custom record layouts, the owner of your organization’s TIEIT account will need to activate this for you in their settings.
1. Log in to your TIEIT account and click your user icon located on the top right section of the page. Click the Settings button.
2. On the Company Settings section on the left, click the CRM Settings option. Select Custom Record Layouts.
On the tabs, you will see all the custom record layouts available to you. To create a new custom record view, click the green + Add View button on the top right of the page.
3. Enter the details and tabs you would like to see on your selected detail page. For example, if you select company in the drop down option, the custom record layout view will only appear when you are in a company’s detail page. Click the blue save button when done.
4. On the top right, you will see two blue layout options. The one on the left is for the detail page and the one on the right is for the side panel.
5. To add fields, you can drag fields that appear on the left of the page. you can move fields to different sections that appear on the detail page. You can also add new sections. In the images below, the employee count field has been moved to the Personal Info tab for the Details tab.
Please note that when adding a field, you can only add it to one area. This means the field cannot be added to both the side panel or the details tab. It can only be added once as TIEIT maps fields to certain areas. It cannot be added twice to any custom layout view.
To add a new section, you can scroll down to the bottom of the page and click + Add New Section.
Adding or Modifying a Side Panel View
1. Click the blue layout panel on the top right will allow you to add a custom side panel view. Click + Add New Section to add a tab for your side panel view.
2. Enter the details of your side panel view. Click the blue save button when done
3. Drag the fields that appear on the left that you wish to appear on the contact side panel view.
Please note that when adding a field, you can only add it to one area. This means the field cannot be added to both the side panel or the details tab. It can only be added once as TIEIT maps fields to certain areas. It cannot be added twice to any custom layout view.
Changing Names of Sections
1. Hover over the section. A pencil icon will appear on the top right corner. Click the pencil icon.
2. Edit the name. Click the update button.
Hiding Tabs on a Detail Page
1. On the CRM Settings page for Custom Record Layouts, click the icon with the 3 circles for the layout view you want to edit.
2. A menu will appear once the icon is pressed. Select manage tabs.
3. Click the icon next to the tab you want to hide on the details page. Click the update button.
Hiding Sections on a Detail Page or Side Panel
1. To hide sections on a detail page or side panel, hover over to the section you would like to hide. An eye icon will appear on the right. Click this icon to hide it. Click the update button.
Please note that some sections that are added on TIEIT may not have this option to hide the section as some fields in that section are required.
Deleting Sections on a Detail Page or Side Panel
Please note that some sections that are added on TIEIT may not have this option to delete the section as some fields in that section are required.
1. To delete a section, delete all the fields in the section by clicking the x icon to the right of the field.
2. Once all the fields are deleted, hover over the section and select the trash can icon to delete the section.
Editing Names of Sections
1. Hover over the section you would like to change the name. Click the blue pencil icon.
2. Edit the name. Click the update button.
Making a Custom Record View the Default View
1. On the CRM Settings page for Custom Record Layouts, click the icon with the 3 circles for the layout you want to make the default.
2. A menu will appear once the icon is pressed. Select manage tabs.
3. Click the section under “Set this view as the default view to user”. You can type in a name or a dropdown will appear if you select this option. Click the update button when done.
Sharing Your Custom Record View
1. On the CRM Settings page for Custom Record Layouts, click the icon with the 3 circles for the layout you want to share.
2. A menu will appear once the icon is pressed. Select manage tabs.
3. Under the Shared With section, select if you would like to share it to all users of TIEIT in your organization or selected users.
4. Select the users if selected users are selected. Click update when done.
