How to do a Hard Refresh in Any Browser

What is a Hard Refresh?

A hard refresh clears your browser cache for a specific page and forces it to load the most recent version of that page. A hard refresh is different from clearing your entire browser history because it just clears the cache related to the page you are doing a hard refresh on.

Important:

  • The refresh button on your address bar is not a hard refresh.
  • The instructions below are to be performed with the browser open on the page that is causing you the issue.

Google Chrome

Windows users: Hold down CTRL and then press F5 on your keyboard.

Mac users: Hold down CMD (⌘) and Shift and press R on your keyboard

Firefox

Windows users: Hold down CTRL and then press F5 on your keyboard.

Mac users: Hold down CMD (⌘)+ Shift and press R on your keyboard

Safari

Go to Safari >Empty Cache, or hold down Opt + Cmd + E

To refresh, click the refresh button on the address bar or press Cmd + R

Internet Explorer/Microsoft Edge (Windows)

Hold down Ctrl and then press F5 on your keyboard

Note: TIEIT is compatible only on the most recent version of Internet Explorer/Edge
