How to Import Data
Step 1: Start the Import
-
Go to CRM > 3 dots from the top menu > Import CRM Data.

- From the side pane upload your CSV file.
- Make sure File Format and Existing Record fields dropdown values
-
Click Continue to mapping.

Once uploaded, you’ll move to the mapping and validation step.
Map and Validate Your Data
After uploading your file, TIEIT guides you through mapping your CSV columns to CRM fields.
Match Existing Records
At the top of the page, choose how existing records should be matched:
- Primary Email
- External Record ID
This determines whether records are updated or created as new entries.

Map CSV Columns to CRM Fields
For each column in your CSV:
- Assign it to a corresponding CRM field
- If a column is not needed, leave it Not Mapped
TIEIT provides a clear summary:
- Mapped – Ready to import
- Unmapped – Missing or not assigned
- Needs Review – Requires your attention before proceeding
Use filters like Mapped, Unmapped, or Uncertain to quickly review specific fields.
Handle Ambiguous Fields
If a column matches multiple CRM fields (for example, “Location”), TIEIT will flag it as Needs Review.
- Select the correct field from the dropdown
- Confirm the mapping before proceeding
Note: Custom fields are not auto-mapped. You’ll need to map them manually to the appropriate CRM fields during this step.
Overwrite Existing Data
- Use Default overwrite for mapped rows to control whether existing data should be updated
- You can also enable Row override for specific fields
This gives you control over whether imported data replaces existing values.
Finalize Mapping
Once everything is mapped and reviewed:
- Click Import to proceed to complete the import
TIEIT will validate your data and begin the import process.
Review Import Results
After the import is complete, you’ll receive a notification once the import finishes. To review the status of all your imports at any time:
- Click the three-dot menu from the top navigation
- Select Import to open the Import listing page
This page provides a complete summary of the import:
- Progress – Import completion status
- Data Rows – Total rows processed
- Imported – Successfully imported records
- Updated – Existing records updated
- Issues – Rows that need attention
Identify and Fix Issues
If there are any issues, they will appear in the Issues section.
Each issue includes:
- Error Type (for example, column not mapped)
- Detailed Message explaining the problem
- Row Preview showing affected data
Example:
- A column in your CSV contains data but is not mapped to any CRM field
- TIEIT will highlight this and suggest mapping it before re-importing
You can:
- Review the issue
- Fix your CSV or mapping
- Re-import the file if needed
You also have the option to Download issues as CSV for offline review.

Things to Watch Out For
- Ensure required fields (like email) are correctly mapped
- Review all Needs Review fields before importing
- Be cautious with overwrite settings to avoid unintended data loss
- Unmapped columns will not be imported
- Duplicate handling depends on your selected matching criteria
