Keep in mind: While GIFs are widely supported in email clients, some (like older versions of Outlook) may only display the first frame.
How to add a GIF to your email
Follow these steps to insert a GIF into your email campaign:
- Go to Campaigns
- Navigate to the Campaigns module from the main menu.
- Create or edit an email campaign
- Open an existing campaign or start a new one using the drag-and-drop email editor.
- Add an Image Block
- From the Layout Builder, drag the Image block into your email layout.
- Position it where you'd like the GIF to appear.
- Upload your GIF
- Click on the image block.
- From the dropdown, click Replace Icon.
- Upload your GIF from your computer.
- Save your email
- Click Save to retain your changes, then continue setting up the rest of your campaign.
Supported formats and tips
- Only .gif files are supported for animation.
- Keep file size under 1MB for best performance.
- Use looping GIFs for subtle animations (e.g., buttons, banners).
- Test across devices before sending to ensure compatibility.
