How to Create and Use Discounts and Promo Codes

TIEIT includes a robust forms module and discount module. Discounts are used when creating invoices or estimates within the software. Promo codes, which utilize discount codes, can be used by customers when making a purchase using a TIEIT Payment Form. Promo codes can have usage limits based on dates or the number of uses and must be selected for a payment form to be valid on that form.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to create and use discounts and promo codes in your SaaS ERP system.

1.0 Create a Discount Code

1. Navigate to the Transactions Module

   • Go to the Transactions module in your TIEIT account.

     

2. Access the Discounts Tab

   • On the top blue menu bar, click the icon with the 3 circles and then select the Discounts tab.

     

3. Create a New Discount

   • Click the + Discount  button.

     

4. Enter Discount Details

   • Fill in the name of the discount, the rate, and the discount type. Note that a fixed discount type will reduce the amount by the number of dollars you enter in the rate section.

     

5. Save the Discount
   • Click the Save  button when done.

2.0 Create the Promo Code

1. Navigate to the Transactions Module

• Go to the Transactions module.

  

2. Access the Promo Codes Tab

• On the top blue menu bar, click the icon with the 3 circles and then select the Promo Codes tab.

  

3. Create a New Promo Code

• Click the + Promo Code  button.

3. Enter Promo Code Details

• Name: Provide a name for the promo code.
• Promo Code: Enter the text that form submitters will use to apply the promo code to payment forms.
• Discount Type: Select the discount name created in Step 1.
• Usage Limit: Set a limit on how many times or until what date the promo code can be used. You can also keep it as unlimited.

Save the Promo Code

• Click the Save  button when done.

3.0 Add Promo Codes to Forms

1. Edit the Form

   • On the form editing page, open the payment fields tab on the left panel. Add the promo code field to the form.

     

2. Access Promo Code Settings
   • Click the settings button on the bottom right of the screen.

3. Enable and Configure Promo Codes
   • Select the promo codes and ensure the promo code toggle is on.
   • Click the Save and Close  button when done.
