Email Sync Rules

Control the emails that come into your TIEIT account by adding email sync rules.

Please note that only the administrator of an organization's TIEIT account or users who have been given access to this feature by their administrator can specify the email synchronization rules that will apply to all users within your organization who connect their mailbox. 

The block and allow rules will only work with FROM email addresses, and they will not apply to TO or CC fields. 

Understanding How Email Sync Works

On the email sync configuration page, you will have an allow and block list section to enter specific emails or domains. With block lists, you can also add phrases to block emails with certain text and indicate to block all emails except for the ones indicated in the allow list section.

Note: By default, when your email account is connected to TIEIT, only emails from your TIEIT contacts will sync through to TIEIT. To sync all emails to TIEIT, please continue reading below to learn how to add this option to your email sync configuration.

How to Access the Email Sync Configuration Page

Please note that to access the email sync configuration page, you will need to be the administrator of your organization’s TIEIT account or have been given access to this feature by your administrator.


  1. Click your user icon on the top right of the page. Click the settings button.


  1. On the left side panel, click the company settings tab. Click email sync configuration.


  1. Add emails to the allow or block list. When adding multiple emails, please make sure to add a space between them.


  1. Click the save button when done.

Ways You Can Add Emails to the Allow or Block List

Allow List

  • Email Addresses - You can add email addresses to allow emails from this email address to sync through.
  • Domains - You can add domains such as “@domainname.com” to allow emails coming from email addresses with that domain.

Block List

  • * - Adding an asterisk will block everything except the domains added to the allow list.
  • Email Addresses - You can add email addresses to block emails from this email address.
  • Domains - You can add domains such as “@domainname.com” to block emails coming from email addresses with that domain.
  • Phrases - Adding words will block those email addresses with the specified text.

Sync All Emails Checkbox

By default, only emails from contacts in your TIEIT account will sync over. Check this box if you would like all emails that are not in your block list to sync through to TIEIT.

Removing Emails From the Allow or Block List

  1. In the allow or block list section, to the right of an email address, domain or phrase, you will see an x. Click this x to delete it.

  1. Click the save button when done.
