What can I do in the advanced settings tab in a form field?

There are a number of ways you can edit existing fields that are on your form such as:

  • Hiding a field
  • Adding additional or removing data (answers) to fields with multiple answers
  • Adding an "other" option to a field with the option for form submitters to enter text if this is selected
  • Adding a "none of the above" option to a field

To learn how to do this, please read the instructions below.

1. Click the Forms module on the left. Click the icon with the 3 circles to the right of the form you want to edit. Click the pencil icon to edit.

2. Hover over the field you would like to edit. Select the pencil icon.

3. Select the Advanced tab.

Make your edits. Some edits you can make include:

  1. Visibility - You can choose to hide the visibility of a field in a form. The field will still remain in the form, but when someone views the form through a form link, they will not see it.
  2. Edit Options - Depending on the type of custom field that was created, there are a number of editing options available to you:
    • You can make an answer in the field as a default answer by clicking the radio button on the right
    • You can add or remove answers from a field by clicking the + or - buttons on the right
    • To save time, you can add answers to a field in bulk by clicking the Bulk Answers button on the right
  3. Additional Answers (Data) - You can add additional options to a field such as a “none of the above” option or “other” option that will allow the form submitter to enter an answer.

Click the save button when done.
